Pietro da Cortona
This lecture will explore the early history of Baroque painting in Rome and Florence via Pietro da Cortona's illusory ceiling decorations at the Palazzo Barberini in Rome and his collaboration with the Medici family in Florence for the decorative programmes of the state rooms of Palazzo Pitti.
