Piazza di Santa Trinita / Piazza Strozzi

This walk will explore the history of the Via Tornabuoni, Florence's most elegant shopping street, including the church of Santa Trinita (begun 11th century, largely rebuilt 14th century) with its Sassetti Chapel frescoes by Ghirlandaio (1483-1485), and the impressive palaces of the Ferroni, Bartolini-Salimbeni (by Baccio d'Agnolo, 1517-1520), Strozzi (by Benedetto da Maiano and Cronaca, begun 1489), and Antinori families (c. 1461-1469), each a masterpiece of Renaissance architecture.
