Piazza Pitti / Piazza Santa Felicita

This visit will explore the monumental Piazza Pitti, dominated by the imposing Palazzo Pitti (begun 1458, attributed to Filippo Brunelleschi; enlarged by Bartolomeo Ammannati from 1560), a vast Renaissance palace housing several important museums and the Boboli Gardens (begun 16th century). The walk will also include Piazza Santa Felicita, home to the ancient Church of Santa Felicita (founded 4th century, largely rebuilt 18th century by Ferdinando Ruggieri), which contains important artworks and a unique Vasari Corridor passage.
