Tea with a View

To commemorate the 30th anniversary of the well-loved film “A Room with a View” and to mark the visit in Florence of its Director, James Ivory, the British Institute of Florence is organising a Tea with a View on Saturday 7 October from 17.00 to 18.30 in the Harold Acton Library overlooking the River Arno.

Mr Ivory is planning to be with us and we expect other special guests.
A Room with a View is set in the first decade of the last century, and we shall be recreating the atmosphere of an Edwardian tea in Florence.

The Tea is part of a series of special events organized for the Centenary of our Institute and will be an opportunity for us to raise funds, which are essential to our Harold Acton Library – it costs € 500 everyday to keep the Library open.

To register please email library@britishinstitute.it

Our Life members are invited to attend the event free of charge, as we want to thank them for their support (places are limited). For more information on the advantages of a Life membership please click here.

Participants who are not already Life members are asked to give a donation of minimum €20 by 29th September 2017, by bank transfer or by going in directly to the library.
