Women artists of the 1900s

Lecture in English by Linda Falcone

This lecture focuses on female creativity in Florence and its outskirts during the 20th century. Two international artists lead the way into this lesser-known artistic scene: French-born Nabis artist Elisabeth Chaplin and her English neighbour, the painter Lola Costa. Since 2008 Linda Falcone has co-ordinated Advancing Women Artists, the foundation set up by the late Jane Fortune.

The Cultural Programme is open to members of the British Institute of Florence. Membership options range from 24 hours to Life. For membership see here.
