Who gets the money, who gets the estate? Untying the knot of cross-border inheritance

Settling abroad or just owning a property abroad does have an impact in determining what law will be applicable to your succession and where inheritance tax shall be paid.  The law of succession varies greatly from country to country, as it is deeply rooted in the culture of each country.  This talk aims to give a brief overview on the different systems and, with the help of practical examples, to explain how a cross-border successions could be efficiently planned and administered. Dr Antoci is a lawyer and a Governor of the British Institute.
