‘Think cinematographically, eat cinematographically, sleep cinematographically’: the films of Bernardo Bertolucci

The new Talking Pictures series, devised and presented as usual by James Sholto Douglas, concentrates on the films of the Italian film director and screenwriter Bernardo Bertolucci (b. 1940), who in 2007 received the Golden Lion Award at the Venice Film Festival for his life's work. In 2011 he was given the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Festival. Among his best known films are La Conformista, Last Tango in Paris, Novecento I and II, The Last Emperor and The Dreamers.
