Theatre, magic and philosophy: Shakespeare, John Dee and the Italian legacy

John Dee (1527-1608/9) was an English mathematician, astrologer, occult philosopher and advisor to Queen Elizabeth I. Dr Gabriela Dragnea Horvath, who has written a book on the subject published in 2017 by Routledge, explains the Shakespearean connection and investigates links between magic and the theatre.
