The Fake-makers of Bardini & Co

A lecture by Lynn Catterson

Based on a ten year accrual of bits and pieces of evidence and information gathered from the 100 years' worth of material in the state archive of the Stefano Bardini business, this talk identifies by name some of the artists who worked for Bardini. Then, on the basis of several factors, including style, some Italian Renaissance art imposters will be attributed instead to these 19C men. 

 

Lynn Catterson has spent many years exploring the largely untouched Bardini archives, and has made many surprising discoveries … many of which have caused controversy
