Some nineteenth-century literary visitors to Florence

by Mark Roberts

PLEASE NOTE:  due to a bereavement Richard Hodges has had to postpone the lecture scheduled for Wednesday.  We are grateful to Mark Roberts, who will instead talk on  "Some nineteenth-century literary visitors to Florence".

Throughout the nineteenth century Florence acted as a magnet to poets and novelists from the British Isles.  Mark will tell entertaining stories about illustrious visitors including Byron and Shelley, Henry James, Anthony Trollope, George Eliot and the Brownings

The lecture will be followed by wine and snacks.
