The British Institute of Florence presents presents a book launch and an exhibition by David Cass, and an exchange of testimonies of the 1966 flood followed by the Italian première of “Why Save Florence?” made in 1968.

17:00 Introduction by Julia Race, Director of The British Institute of Florence. Conversation with David Cass about his book Perimetri Perduti and the exhibition of some of his artworks inspired by the 1966 flood.

17:30 Official opening of the exhibition Perimetri Perduti by Dr.ssa KirstenAschengreen Piacenti.

17:45 Eye witness accounts of the 1966 flood.

18:30 Refreshments.

19:00 Italian première of documentary film “Why Save Florence?” by Roger Graef (BFI, 1968, 50 mins), introduced by the film-maker.

For the occasion, the Institute will present the exhibition “November 2016: The Month of Mud” with books and materials from the Harold Acton Library collections on the 1966 flood.
