La Piazza della Santissima Annunziata - A Renaissance Crossway of Faith, Charity and Hope
Virtual Cultural Event, on Zoom
by Jeremy Boudreau
This online lecture will offer a virtual guided visit to one of Florence’s many beautiful urban spaces: the Piazza Santissima Annunziata. From the eponymous Servite church and its conspicuous miracle-working image of the Virgin Mary, to the city’s first corporate-sponsored foundling hospital, this piazza has it all: rich artistic and social history, evocative architecture, and a special place in the hearts of Florentines past and present.
The talk will last about 40 mins, and will be followed by a discussion using the power of video conferencing.
We recommend that you treat yourself to a glass of wine to enhance the occasion – just like a regular Wednesday at Palazzo Lanfredini!
We request that you make a donation (however much is comfortable for you) if you wish to participate in the session. Your donations will help keep the Institute afloat at this difficult time; and we will give 50% of the money we receive to "Il Cuore di Firenze Foundation" who are raising funds for urgently needed ventilators in Florence.
Thank you for your support
