Marco Vichi, the Florentine author of a famous series of ‘police procedurals’ set in 1960s Florence and featuring Commissario Bordelli, speaks in Italian about the great masters of the past who have taught him to write: Lermentov, Gogol, Chekov, Simenon, Silone, Bassani, Fenoglio and Malaparte.
