Festivities at the Duomo - 1436

Wednesday Lecture, on Zoom and at the British Institute Library

This talk will chart the final years of the construction of the cupola of Brunelleschi, the subsequent consecration of the Florentine Cathedral by Pope Eugene IV on 25 March 1436, and the religious as well as civic festivities arranged to commemorate the important occasion within the context of historic Florentine New Year traditions.
