16 June 1904 is the day on which James Joyce set Ulysses, the most well-known of modern novels: on that day Stephen Daedalus and Leopold Bloom each took their epic journeys through Dublin.
Bloomsday, the annual celebration of those events, has become a tradition for Joyce enthusiasts all over the world.
The British Institute of Florence celebrates Joyce and his novel; this year we are reading the fourteenth episode of the novel, generally known by its Homeric title 'Oxes of the Sun'.
