A Taste of Modernity - The Tuscan Wine Revolution

Virtual Wednesday Lecture, on Zoom

by Peter Fischer

Italy has a long history of wine making, but only recently has the country been able to produce some of the finest premium wines in the world. Why did this take so long and why did it finally happen? This presentation looks into the Tuscan Wine Revolution after WWII and its historical conditions.   It is here, that in a breathtaking process of modernization, inspired by advanced French wine making, a new breed of quality wines has been created that have excited wine professionals and connoisseurs all over the world: the Supertuscans.
