This talk will examine the contested commissioning of a mausoleum dedicated to the memory of Donato de’ Medici, Bishop of Pistoia (1436-1474). An attempt will be made to reconstruct both the history and the composition of the now fragmented chapel complex through a reconsideration of archival documentation and visual evidence. Prof. Milner is Director of the British School at Rome.

The lecture will be followed by wine and snacks.
