An “Aperi-Talk” by Daniela Salvioni

In vino veritas – according to the ancient Greeks, wine reveals truths. Today there is a seismic
shift underway in the Italian wine world with ever more women producing wine and garnering
considerable successes. What does this phenomenon reveal about women, wine and ultimately about Italy?

Wine and Women is based on a chapter of Ms. Salvioni’s forthcoming book on Italy beyond the
clichés. Ms. Salvioni is an American writer and contemporary art consultant who divides her
time between Rome, Tuscany and New York City.
The talk will be accompanied by an aperitivo featuring UvaVita, a sparkling rosè wine that is one of the newest and most innovative wines produced in Tuscany. Its producer, Silvia Cardini, will be present.
