L'Europa dopo Brexit

The British journalist Bill Emmott was editor-in-chief of The Economist from 1993 to 2006 and is now a director of Ofcom, the UK’s communications regulator. From 2009 to 2015 he was chairman of the London Library. In this talk he examines the fallout of the June referendum on EU membership.

Britain's referendum decision on 23 June has pushed the whole of the European Union into uncharted territory. Bill Emmott, former editor of The Economist, executive producer of the BBC/Arte/Sky Italia documentary The Great European Disaster Movie (2015) and narrator/co-author of the controversial documentary about Italy, Girlfriend in a Coma (2013), will provide an explorer's guide to this new territory, including Italy, Britain's future relationship with the EU, and the prospects for next May's French elections.

The lecture will be followed by the screening of The Great European Disaster Movie at 20:00.
