Support Us

We need your support to help the British Institute flourish now and into the future

For generations of residents and visitors,  the Institute’s glorious 16th-century palazzo on the banks of the Arno has been a home from home. Channelling directly the traditions of the Grand Tour and the English Colony at Florence, our beautiful heritage Library buzzes with stimulating and entertaining events and activities. It is the perfect place to get the inside track on Florence and meet interesting people.

The Institute is an independent non-profit, which receives no public funding whatsoever.  Though we run a very tight ship, it is unfortunately not possible to cover all costs from sales income. So we need the continued support of our friends and patrons to secure our future now and for generations to come.

Each year we need to raise €150.000 to maintain our library and the educational, cultural and social programmes that we offer.

The British Institute of Florence is a charity registered in England.  It operates exclusively in Florence, and is not part of a larger organisation.
