Illuminating the Past
A workshop to create an illuminated letter

In this workshop, Alison Salmon will guide you in recreating this exquisite letter L, originally stolen from its Codex and purchased in good faith by the Cleveland Museum of Art. When it was discovered to be a stolen work of art, it was returned to Italy.
This workshop will provide you with all the materials and
guidance needed to make a copy of this letter. The 23-karat gold leaf and goatskin parchment are included together with period pigments in small shells.
All materials provided.
