Meet the Author - Christobel Kent
22 February 2022 - from 17:30
Christobel Kent is well known for her Sandro Cellini series of thrillers set in Florence. For the Book Club part of her evening with us, she has chosen the latest in her series of thrillers set in England The Widower.
"The Widower seethes with atmosphere – I read the first half slowly, almost unable to bear the thrumming tension, and the second half at full pelt. Haunting and heart-wrenching, this book is reminiscent of Daphne Du Maurier" (Observer)
"Christobel Kent's subtly satisfying novel illustrates how easy it is for people to talk themselves into an abusive relationship; that it doesn't seem likely is precisely what allows it to be overlooked.” (Good Reads)
The evening will be in two linked parts:
At 17:30 (CET) Simon Gammell will chair a session for people who have read The Widower to discuss it direct with the author, Christobel Kent. This will be the ultimate Book Club experience.
After a short interval, we will resume at 18:30 when Kamin Mohammadi (author of Bella Figura) will talk to Christobel about her life and her work.
Live in the Library and simultaneously online via Zoom.
Please be aware that all participants in the Library will have to show a valid Super Green Pass (or equivalent international certification) for entry and will have to wear a FFP2 mask throughout the event. No food or drink will be served at events.
Both parts: E. 15
