Bartolomeo Ammannati e le sue costruzioni a Firenze

Lecture in Italian by Marco Calafati

Bartolomeo Ammanati (1511-1592) was a mediocre sculptor but was far more interesting and successful as an architect. In Florence he built the rusticated courtyard of Palazzo Pitti, the beautiful Ponte Santa Trinita, the Fontana del Nettuno in piazza della Signoria and Palazzo Budini Gattai on the corner of via dei Servi and piazza Santissima Annunziata. Marco Calafati teaches History of Art at the University of Florence.
