Bernard Berenson and Asian art; Asian art and me

The celebrated art historian and critic Bernard Berenson (1865-1959) collected at Villa I Tatti not only Western but also Eastern art. Dr Carl Brandon Strehlke, who is Curator Emeritus at the Philadelphia Museum of Art and Visiting Professor at Johns Hopkins University, will talk about Berenson’s study and collecting of East Asian art and will end with some personal thoughts about the study of East Asian art today.
