Music for the Eyes: part 1

Musical Myths

Tuesday 11th November 2025 at 18:00

Musical Myths explores the intersections between myth, music and visual storytelling. Kate Bolton Porciatti delves into the legendary tales of Orpheus and Eurydice, Pan and Syrinx, Apollo and Marsyas, in whose narratives music enchants, transforms and punishes. We see how these myths have been brought to life in Florence’s masterpieces, from Roman and Renaissance sculptures in the Uffizi and Palazzo Medici-Riccardi to paintings in the Palatine Gallery and the Museum of Modern Art: a compelling journey for lovers of art, mythology, and music alike.
