Memorial Concert for Scott Faigen: Roger Low (violoncello) and Annalisa Orlando (piano)

"American pianist Scott Faigen enjoyed a distinguished career as concert pianist, composer and conductor. At age 16 he performed the Mendelssohn g-minor concerto with the Pittsburgh Symphony.  He went on to study at Oberlin Conservatory and the University of Illinois. For six years he held performing positions at the Juilliard School, as well as Sarah Lawrence College and the Aspen Music Festival. He was the official pianist at many international competitions, and concert tours brought Mr. Faigen to more than 40 countries. He was a founding member of the Bamberger Trio and from 1989 to 2024 was on the chamber music faculty of the Mannheim Conservatory. Scott was my friend and collaborator for forty years, and his artistry, scholarship, wit and above all warmth and generosity will be missed by all of us here in Florence. This concert is a small token of our love and respect for this extraordinary person." Roger Low
