Machiavelli’s Florence by Day and by Night

Lecture by Marcello Simonetta

 

Drawing from Machiavelli's private correspondence, which Marcello Simonetta has edited, this lecture will explore his mischievous adventures in the city -  including a nocturnal encounter which led to a “ridiculous metamorphosis”….

  

Marcello Simonetta is the author of several books on the Medici and their contemporaries, including “The Montefeltro Conspiracy” which has been translated into six languages.  He has held positions at Columbia University, The Paris Institute for Advanced Study and the Medici Archive Project amongst others.
