Your own private internet café in Florence. British Institute of Florence students and Library members have access to the internet and computing facilities in a quiet study room with stunning views directly overlooking the Arno. 

You should register for a username and password at the Library desk (or reception in the Language Centre if you are accessing the internet from there). You are responsible for your user ID and password and must not disclose this information to anyone else.

To comply with Italian law you are required to provide us with your ID and your address.

If a PC computer is free, you can use it as long as you want unless there are other people waiting. In this case usage will be limited to ½ hour. Please be considerate of others who may be waiting. If the wireless user limit is exceeded the British Institute reserves the right to reduce your internet time.

Files can be saved to the Desktop of our PCs at the user's own risk. The British Institute of Florence accepts no responsibility for lost or damaged files.

The British Institute computer network must not be used for illegal activity, to access illegal or obscene materials

Using chat groups, streaming, sexually explicit or offensive chat rooms or sites, games and other entertainment service is prohibited.

Installation, downloading, or modification of software is prohibited.

You must respect copyright laws and licensing agreements.

You must not make any attempt to gain unauthorised access to restricted files or networks, or to damage or modify computer equipment or software.

You must end your session and leave the terminal when asked to do so by British Institute of Florence staff. Always log off the computer when you have finished your session.

You should respect the privacy of other users, and should refrain from attempting to view or read material being used by others.

Please remember communications on the Internet are public in nature and files stored on the Internet should not be assumed to be private.

The British Institute of Florence makes every effort to provide continuous service, but we are dependent on Internet service providers and accept no liability for disruption of service.

We reserve the right to suspend usage of computers and the internet if our use policy is not respected.
