Events

The British Institute of Florence organises a regular programme of lectures, concerts, theatrical performances and films in English.

Weekly Cultural Programme

Every Wednesday at 18.00 from September to June there is a lecture, concert or other event in the Sala Ferragamo in the Harold Acton Library followed by an informal drinks reception.

Talking Pictures

Each season takes a specific theme or personality from the world of cinema. The format is a brief spoken introduction based on a prepared handout, the screening of the film, and an informal follow-up discussion.  Screenings are usually in English.

Reading Exchange

The reading exchange meets three times a year and gives you the opportunity to talk about a book you have enjoyed and listen to the choices of others. It is open to all library members.

Other Events

Our annual Shakespeare celebrations take place in April, and we celebrate James Joyce on Bloomsday 16 June every year. We also organise other events outside our usual programme, such as conferences.
