The British Institute of Florence is the perfect place to study the history of Italian art. We combine lectures with on-site visits focusing on Italian art from the Middle Ages to the High Renaissance, with an emphasis on Florentine art.

The Renaissance Series: month-long courses

3 month programme

The 12 week programme explores Italian Renaissance art from its awakening in the thirteenth century to its flowering during the High Renaissance of the sixteenth century. The programme begins with the 4 week course Dawn of the Renaissance, moving through the 4 week Early Italian Renaissance in the second month and the 4 week Italian High Renaissance in the third. It is possible to combine this 12 week programme with Italian language and/or Life Drawing.

Note that, depending on museum opening times, occasional site visits may be scheduled in the morning including Saturday.

Please note that classes will not be held on the following national holidays and hours for that week will be reduced accordingly:
