The British Institute of Florence is the perfect place to study the history of Italian art. We combine lectures with on-site visits focusing on Italian art from the Middle Ages to the High Renaissance, with an emphasis on Florentine art.

Art in Renaissance Florence

An overview of the spectacular achievements of Florentine Renaissance artists from the thirteenth to the sixteenth centuries. Most classes are held onsite in museums, galleries and churches to see at first-hand the works of Giotto, Donatello, Brunelleschi, Botticelli, Leonardo, Michelangelo and many others. It is possible to combine this programme with Italian language and/or Life Drawing.

Note that, depending on museum opening times, occasional site visits may be scheduled in the morning including Saturday.

Please note that classes will not be held on the following national holidays and hours for that week will be reduced accordingly:
